Advanced Imaging

We use state-of-the-art photodocumentation and laser imaging to aid in early diagnosis and treatment of sight-threatening diseases

3D Imaging

The VISUCAMPRO NM provides detailed 3D imaging of the back of the eye and allows Dr. Carver to identify a host of possible conditions.

The VISUCAMPRO NM™ is a non-mydriatic (not requiring dilation) retinal camera system from the legendary optics of Carl Zeiss which allows us to photo-document diseases affecting the retina, macula and optic nerve. This advance system requires no dilation and records stunning 3D digital images which help us in treating and following changes associated with glaucoma, macular degeneration and a host of other conditions in the back of the eye. This service is billable to Medicare and PPO medical insurances.

Additionally, we recommend taking screening retinal photos on all patients with healthy eyes to document baseline findings so that we can make year to year comparisons to monitor for change.

Optical Coherence Tomography

The Zeiss Cirrus 5000™ OCT provides detailed imaging of the optic nerve, retina and front section of the eye.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a new paradigm in detailed imaging of the optic nerve, retina and front section of the eye. Studies have shown that OCT diagnostic testing can demonstrate structural damage of the optic nerve from glaucoma up to 8 years earlier than other diagnostic tests currently available. OCT also vastly improves our ability to diagnose, treat and follow many vision-threatening retinal conditions such as macular degeneration and diabetes. Vision impairment from these diseases can be prevented and vision can be preserved with much earlier detection using OCT technology. When you’re in for your next exam, ask about our new state-of-the-art Zeiss Cirrus 5000™ instrument. As with digital retinal photography, OCT imaging is covered by most medical insurance plans including Medicare.
